CASHEW PEPPER CHICKEN

It's saturday so it's recipe time. Today's recipe is cashew pepper chicken, tomorrow is sunday so it will be easy for you try this recipe at home. I'm sure you will definitely love is recipe.

INGREDIENTS

FOR MARINATION

  • 3/4 kg Chicken / கோழி
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder / மஞ்சள் தூள்
  • 2 teaspoon Chilli powder / மிளகாய் தூள்
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder / கருமிளகு தூள்

FOR GRAVY PASTE

  • 20 Cashew nuts / முந்திரிப்பருப்பு
  • 1 teaspoon Fennel seed / பெருஞ்சீரகம்

FOR GRAVY

  • 6 teaspoon Oil / எண்ணெய்
  • 1 inch Cinnamon / இலவங்கப்பட்டை
  • 5 Cloves / கிராம்பு
  • Green cardamom / பச்சை ஏலக்காய்
  • 1 Bay leaf / பிரியாணி இலை
  • 2 Onion (medium size) / வெங்காயம்
  • 3 Green chilli (big size) / பச்சை மிளகாய்
  • 2 Tomato (small size) / தக்காளி
  • Curry leaves / கறிவேப்பிலை
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger & Garlic paste / இஞ்சி பூண்டு விழுது
  • 1 teaspoon Garam masala / கரம் மசாலா
  • 2 teaspoon Coriander masala / கொத்தமல்லி தூள்
  • Marinated Chicken / கோழி
  • Salt / உப்பு
  • Cashew and Fennel seed paste / முந்திரி & பெருஞ்சீரகம் விழுது
  • Water / தண்ணீர்
  • Coriander leaves / கொத்துமல்லி தழை



INSTRUCTIONS

  1. I have taken 3/4 Chicken to that I have added Turmeric powder, Chilli powder and Black pepper powder. Mix them all together and keep it on other side let it marinate until we cook.
  2. Take a pan or kadai to that add Oil, let the oil heat, to that add Cinnamon, Clove, Green cardamom and Bay leaf. Cook them for 1 minute.  
  3. Add Onion I have taken 2 medium size onion, to that add big size Green chilli. Now cook the onion until it translucent and become light golden brown.
  4. Now add 2 small size tomato. Saute it until it get smash and the raw smell goes off. Now add the curry leave into the onion tomato cook for few minute.
  5. After the raw smell goes off add the Ginger and Garlic paste and saute it well until the raw smell goes off. Now add the spice powder first the Garam masala goes in and the next Coriander masala cook both the masala for at least 2 minutes.
  6. Now add the marinated Chicken into the masala and cook until the masala should coat will the chicken and add the required amount Salt to the gravy and the chicken. Mix well and cover it with lid and cook for 2-3 minutes. 
  7. Now open the lid the chicken should have released some water at that time mix well and add the Cashew nut and fennel seed paste. Mix it well with chicken for 3-4 minutes. 
  8. Add the Water to the chicken (required amount of water) i.e. the water level should be above the chicken. Cover and cook for maximum 10-13 minutes. Open the lid check the chicken is cooked or not and check the salt and spice level. 
  9. If all are correct and the chicken is cooked well sprinkle some freshly chopped Coriander leave. Turn off the flame and serve it hot.

NOTES

  • If you don't like to marinate the chicken with spices you can use the spices directly to the gravy.
  • If you like to marinate the chicken over night you can marinate it.
  • Soak the cashew nut with the water for 30 minutes before grinding it or else it won't grind properly.
  • Try to cook the chicken within 10 to 13 minutes after adding the water. Don't over cook it it will become harder.
  • I have used boiler chicken if you like to go with country chicken yes you can.
  • If you are using country chicken make use cook the chicken in the cooker for 3 to 4 whistle.

SERVE WITH

   Serve the cashew pepper chicken with hot white rice or roti or with butter non or chapati else idly. If you ask me I will tell you to serve the recipe with the hot idly imagen and see  you will get mouth watering hahaha. Do try the recipe and tell your feedback in the commend section.
